About Me
Hello, I'm Niall and I'm a Pet Bereavement Counsellor offering support sessions in person, by phone or video calls (Teams or WhatsApp) based in Hastings, East Sussex.
I've been an animal lover all my life, starting in childhood with the usual range of cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and goldfish (won at the fair in those days).
In my adult life, cats have featured largely, and in the present, my focus is on my beloved Welsh Terrier, Barney, who is fifteen & a half years old.
UPDATE
Barney died on Saturday, 30th March 2024, in our arms in the garden that he loved, bathed in beautiful spring sunshine. He was 1 week short of being 15 yrs and 8 months old.
The grief of losing my beautiful animal companions over the years has been hard and, at times, overwhelming. It never seems to get any easier to handle, however many times it happens. But the love always makes it worthwhile.
I hold an advanced diploma in Pet Bereavement Counselling(distinction) obtained from Living with Pet Bereavement and awarded by subject/industry expert, Dawn Murray.
I have a diploma in Counselling Skills level 3.
I've been a volunteer for Samaritans and a community mediator.
I'm an Emotional Freedom Technique master practitioner(tapping) and a Reiki master.
It can be hard to reach out for help when we're hurting and in pain - often, we think that we can manage alone. Sometimes, though, we all need a sounding board and an ear to listen to our story without judgement or agenda. We just want and need to be heard.
Please get in touch; give me a call. You're already thinking about finding help as you read this now.

I've added an image of myself; it's always nice to see who you're speaking with. Also, an image with Barney taking in the view.
